Goanet was founded by Herman Carneiro. It is currently run by him and
Vivian Coelho and Frederick Noronha. Your suggestions are welcome. To

Currently, the lists available via the Goanet network include:
* [8]Goanet, space for news, views, discussions, comments and
questions (about 12+ messages per day)
* Goanet-Digest, the above list in digest form. Less mailbox-load,
but lesser chance to take part in a breaking discussion
* [9]Goanet-news, a news-only low-volume service bringing news
summaries and occasional news from Goa
In addition to this, a range of other lists were inspired and set up
following Goanet's example. These include Saligaonet (mailing list for
those linked to the village of Saligao), [10]CSI-Goa (mailing list of
the Computer Society of Goa), [11]ILUG-Goa (the GNU/Linux network of
Goa), Goanet-BSG (list for those interested in horticulture, plants
and encouraging green-fingers), [12]Calangutenet (for people
interested in keeping in touch with Calangute), [13]Aldona-net (for
and about Aldona village), [14]SanguemNet (dealing with Sanquem) and
other not-Goa-specific lists run via the [15]www.indialists.org
server. If you would like to join any of these lists, contact
fred at bytesforall.org
You can help make Goanet a better place in a number of ways:
* Introduce yourself on joining.... this lets others know who's on
this forum
* Posting news, updates, queries, comments and suggestions to
goanet at goanet.org
* Telling other Goans and people interested in Goa about Goanet
* Taking an active part in the not-for-profit ventures of Goanet
* Advertising on Goanet; your money will support community ventures
* This is a not-for-profit site, meant primarily to build community
* No one gets paid for writing, no one pays for membership
* The admin may permit occasional postings of a commercial nature,
if this is of wider interest
* If you wish to advertise regularly, you need to pay for it
* Funds, if any, earned from such adverts will be used to support
community ventures in Goa
* Our members need to identify themselves, and pseudonyms are
disallowed
* While we believe in free speech, Goanet-admin reserves the right
to block offensive, insulting postings, ad hominen attacks, hate
mail and that is not in keeping with the tone of this list. This
will not be used to block postings which we may not agree with...
