BUILDING HINTS

* Construction costs Rs 20,000 per sqm (circa 2017)
* All work involving cement must be cured for seven days
* Roofing wood is expensive
* So replace that with relatively cheaper steel box sections.
* Recycle and reuse whenever possible
* Concrete is expensive and heavy.
* So do not use concrete for roofs unless absolutely necessary
* Our winds are mainly westerly; ensure your house catches the breeze
* Use natural ventilation to reduce AC costs.
